When the grace of God comes to a man he can do all things, but when it leaves him he becomes poor and weak, abandoned, as it were, to affliction. Yet, in this condition he should not become dejected or despair. On the contrary, he should calmly await the will of God and bear whatever befalls him in praise of Jesus Christ, for after winter comes summer, after night, the day, and after the storm, a great calm.

Fear & Obedience.

Fear, it can eat us alive if we let it. Obedience, a word many of us despise in our hearts because it may mean surrender. We fear obedience thinking that if we submit ourselves to obedience we give up of our own freedoms. We think that if we give in our own freedom we give in on life.

Jesus said this when it came to give in on individual will.

“If you don’t go all the way with me, through thick and thin, you don’t deserve me. If your first concern is to look after yourself, you’ll never find yourself. But if you forget about yourself and look to me, you’ll find both yourself and me.” (Matthew 10:38-39 MSG)

Want to live an authentic life and find who you really are? Find it in Christ. It may be easier to deviate the hard questions, but it is important to face the truth. Seek the heart of God, and find rest in Him.

When a man begins to grow lax, he fears a little toil and welcomes external comfort, but when he begins perfectly to conquer himself and to walk bravely in the ways of God, then he thinks those things less difficult which he thought so hard before.

If there be joy in the world, the pure of heart certainly possess it; and if there be anguish and affliction anywhere, an evil conscience knows it too well.

As a child my father used to always played this song. Spanish singer Rocio Durcal began her career singing to flamenco style music, but soon crossed the Atlantic and found a new passion in Mexico. Her mexican rancheras brought her more fame in Latin America, then her previous work in Spain ever did. This song speaks about a man who has losses his mother due to illness. He says how he wishes that her eyes would have never closed, and how he will always love her, amor eterno.

Rocio Durcal - Amor eterno

This is the best song in Spanish. Ever. All arguments against this claim are invalid and just plain stupid.
